Three days walking with like minded people make a short break in the Peak District a joy: Tea shops, fresh air, great company and photogenic scenery simply add to the pleasure.
Our guided Peak District walking holidays itinerary requires a reasonable level of fitness, walkers should be comfortable with a moderate degree of exertion and challenge. Alternative, independent walks can be recommended for those who would like an easier/harder day; route guidance and maps provided.
Our short walking break offers three full days of moderate walking in some of the most beautiful parts of the Peak District.
A packed lunch includes a filled roll, fruit,chocolate bar, crisps and a drink.
Below is a SAMPLE itinerary of our walks.
Moderate Walks; 6 to 9 miles well marked paths with occasional steep ascents and descents.
Day 1 – Arrival Day
Arrive mid-afternoon for tea and homemade cake, meet fellow guests and chat about the walking.
Day 2 – Robin Hoods Stride.
Our walk starts from Dale End Barn, through the pretty village of Elton before following the Limestone Way up to Robin Hoods Stride. We continue along the Limestone Way and then into Bradford Dale before returning to Dale End.
Day 3 – Monsal Dale
Starting from Monsal Head with impressive views across the viaduct to Millers Dale, we head down Monsal Dale towards Ashford in the Water; a beautiful Peak District village on the banks of the River Wye. We return along the Monsal Trail to Little Longstone.
Day 4 – Hartington
Todays walk starts from Hartington before heading into Biggin Dale and then Wolfescote Dale.
A path leads up Gypsy Bank, with lovely views of the River Dove, into the village of Alstonfield. From here the path takes us into Beresford Dale then back to Hartington.
Day 5 – Departure Day
Depart after breakfast.
