At the entrance of the Chamonix valley, and only 4km from its famous town, you come across the pretty village of Les Houches right under the impressive Mont-Blanc.
It is a typical French Alps mountain village with a lovely church and lots of old wooden Savoyard farmhouses around. There are a number of pleasant bars and good restaurants for our chalet night off.
Les Houches is the place where we run our Alps walking holidays from, it’s friendly and has a relaxed atmosphere. Les Houches is also ideal for those wishing to explore the rest of the legendary Chamonix valley. So much to see, in this part of the French Alps. You can easily access both the stunning Aiguille du Midi and the Mer de Glace (Sea of Ice) from Chamonix and its many cable cars. The scenic Montenvers train or the picturesque Mont-Blanc tramway are also close by.
Scope for activities and walks are endless – the valley has 350km of walking area and many lifts operating throughout the summer. Guests on a French Alps walking break are never disappointed with the variety Pinnacle Walking Holidays has to offer.
