We have chosen the 4 star, AA rated, Three Shires Inn as the base for our short walking breaks in the Lake District as we have had many happy times at this beautifully situated Inn with its close proximity to some excellent walking.
The Three Shires Inn lies in the unspoilt valley of Little Langdale and has been run by our friends Jane, Ian and Elaine Stephenson since 1983. It is situated five miles west of Ambleside, surrounded by some of the finest scenery in the Lake District and is a perfect base for a short walking break.

The tastefully furnished bedrooms are all ensuite with tv, tea-making facilities and cd/radio alarm clocks and have excellent views of the surrounding fells. WIFI is also available although mobile phone signal in the area is poor.
There is a cosy lounge with a log fire where guests can enjoy reading the papers over a drink before looking forward to a hearty evening meal. Breakfast and dinner are served in the newly refurbished dining room and there is a well stocked bar with a good selection of local ales and an excellent wine list.
If you have a small walking group and would like us to organise a tailor-made walking break for you based at the Three Shires Inn please get in touch. In conjunction with the Three Shires Inn we are able to create three to seven day tailor-made walking breaks for small groups at any time of year. Contact Mike or Paula on 01625 576 321 or Jane at the Three Shires Inn directly on 01539 437 215.
